Judges Questionaire
We always welcome your applications for consideration to be included on our various judges lists. All applications will be put forward to our judges sub-committee, and will be considered for inclusion at our next available meeting.
Please read through carefully the following criteria and decide which list you would like to be considered for.
A1 List
All persons who have been approved by the Kennel Club to award challenge certificates and have already satisfactorily completed their first appointment.
* For the following lists inclusion is at the discretion of the committee by a 2/3rds majority vote in favour. Applicants should preferably have been seen by at least 3 members of the committee.*
A2 List
All persons who fulfil the requirements of the A3 list; they have been assessed in accordance with the Kennel Club requirements, accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on this list and have the support of the association.
A3 List
All persons the association would support to award Kennel Club Challenge Certificates but who, as yet have not been approved by the Kennel Club.
Breed Specialists
To have judged at open show level a minimum of 100 classes and 500 dogs in the breed over a period of 7 years and a wide geographical area. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club regulations and judging procedures. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer on conformation and movement. To have attended a least one breed specific seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club code of best practice and passed an assessment where applicable. To have stewarded at 12 shows. The candidate is expected to have bred or owned at least 3 dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Stud Book (Save in exceptional circumstances)
Gundog Specialists / All Rounders
Persons who are already approved to award Challenge Certificates in at least one breed. To have a minimum 7 years judging experience in any one breed and to have judged a minimum 7 years judging experience in any one breed and to have judged a minimum of 100 classes, 500 dogs in Golden Retrievers, over a period of 5 years and a wide geographical area. To have shown a genuine interest in the breed by having attended a breed seminar, a breed championship show and a breed club open show in different geographical areas.
B List
All persons the association would support to judge the breed without Challenge Certificates. To have judged a minimum of 50 classes, 300 dogs over a period of 5 years and a wide geographical area. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club regulations and judging procedures. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer on conformation and movement. To have attended a least one breed specific judges workshop.
C List
To have been active in the breed for 5 years and approved by the NORTHERN GOLDEN RETRIEVER ASSOCIATION. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club regulations and judging procedures. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club accredited trainer on conformation and movement.
